A great amplifier deserves more than a basic power switch. The IRC01B from Audio products brings controlled start-up and convenient everyday operation together in one compact module. It is a practical choice for a DIY power amplifier or monoblock project using a 500–1000 VA transformer.

Delivered fully assembled and tested, it lets you focus on building your amplifier while adding the control features that make the finished system easier to use.

Built for the way you listen

• Controlled start-up: inrush current limiting reduces the initial current surge when the transformer is switched on.
• Simple front-panel operation: control the amplifier with a single push button and add an illuminated power indication using the PWM-controlled LED output.
• Convenient system control: connect a compatible 12 V trigger so your preamplifier can control the amplifier.
• Automatic operation: switchable audio detection provides an alternative way to turn the amplifier on and off.
• Fault monitoring: inputs are available for compatible fault signals from two power amplifier modules.

A neat fit inside your next project

The microcontroller-based design combines these functions on a board measuring just 135 × 70 × 35 mm (W × D × H). Gold-plated Molex headers serve the control interfaces, while Faston PCB connectors provide connections for the mains wiring. The included bottom shielding plate helps you integrate the module into your amplifier enclosure.

Choose the IRC01B when you want inrush limiting and flexible amplifier control without the additional integrated EMI mains filter. If you prefer those functions combined with mains filtering, take a look at the IRC01C.
