Description
Add a trigger output to your audio equipment
The AP-12V-TRIGGER-OUT provides a trigger output for DIY audio equipment or a custom controller. Use it to send an on/off control signal to compatible equipment with a trigger input.
The board uses a supply connection to drive the trigger output and a separate logic signal to activate it. This lets your project’s control circuit determine when downstream equipment should operate.
Key features
- Trigger output interface for integration into your own audio equipment.
- Output current limited to 100 mA.
- Short-circuit-protected output.
- Separate supply and on/off control connections.
Electrical requirements
- Supply voltage: 8–15 V DC to drive the trigger output.
- Activation signal: 3–12 V logic to enable the output.
- Output current limit: 100 mA.
Use the connection diagram in the product gallery to identify the supply, ON/OFF control and ground connections. Select a supply that is appropriate for the trigger input of the equipment you intend to control.
Before connecting
- Check the receiving device’s trigger voltage range, polarity and cable requirements.
- Check the combined current demand if you plan to connect more than one trigger input.
- Verify the control signal and supply against the board’s stated requirements.
A trigger is a control signal, not the amplifier’s power supply. Start-up delays, muting and switching order depend on the complete system design.
